Migration stories
Stories have the unique power to bring people closer—to humanize migration and reveal it not just as a social, political, or historical phenomenon, but as a deeply emotional and personal experience. By retracing their journeys through their own words, memories, and images, those who share their stories invite us to see the world through their eyes and walk, even briefly, in their shoes. This act of storytelling creates empathy, allowing the audience to identify with the other, bridging distance through shared emotion. At Fondation Orient-Occident, we believe that knowledge and emotion are vital tools to challenge xenophobia and discrimination—raising awareness and cultivating a culture of inclusion, one story at a time.
Voluntary return
The following videos share the experiences of Moroccan nationals who, after spending years in Europe—often in irregular situations—decided to return to Morocco through the voluntary return program promoted by the Fondation Orient-Occident in collaboration with Caritas International. The Foundation supports these individuals in their reintegration journey, helping them rebuild their lives in their country of origin by providing the tools to launch sustainable economic projects and more.
